FOOD: Thousands of secrets make up the fame of Armenian cuisine, hundreds of poems were written about it. Traditional Armenian bread is lavash, a very thin, lightly wrapping stripe of dough about one meter long, which is baked on the hot walls of the oven – tondir. One of the main dishes of Armenian cuisine is tolma, meat mince wrapped in the leaves of grape. Armenians like hot hors-d`oeuvre very much. One of them is basturma – meat, covered with hot crust (chaman), another is sudjukh – little flat meat sausage with different hot spicery. One of the most popular dishes is khorovats, pickled meat with different spices prepared on live coals.
